Prodigy Disc Enters the Disc Golf Market

In the recent months the disc golf community has seen many names leaving their respective disc golf sponsors for a new company. At the time, this new company was unknown. We now know this new company: Prodigy Disc.

In a YouTube video posted above Phil Arthur talks about the team members and the outlook for 2013.

Team Prodigy Disc looks like this:

  • Catrina Allen
  • Paige Pierce
  • Sarah Hokom
  • Cale Leiviska
  • Paul Ulibarri
  • Garrett Gurthie
  • Cameron Colglazier
  • Nikko Locastro
  • Ricky Wysocki
  • Jeremy Koling
  • Will Schusterick

You would be hard pressed to find a more talented group of disc golfers. You have world champions, national tour winners, a two-time US Champion, and the top ranked players in the world.

Prodigy will release a full line of discs over time. Expect the first few discs to be out in the coming months.

We are excited to welcome Prodigy Discs to the disc golf community and hope to hear more from them soon.

  1. One thing is for sure. Prodigy knows how to make a splash. I think it’s amazing that they make their big announcement, and have all these top pros before ever actually releasing a disc to the public. Heck, it doesn’t even look like they have a website yet.

You’ve got to assume these will be making some ultra high quality discs.

    • No doubt! I can’t believe the hype that has come about because of this – Prodigy themselves have not said much, but the rest of the disc golf world is talking.

What I don’t like is the name – Prodigy Disc, with no S. It is unique, sure… but it just rolls off the tongue wrong. It’s like saying “I’m going to go to McDonald for a snack.” No, it’s McDonalds.
